Maintaining Outdoor Privacy

Posted by Blake Stoate under Home Improvement Information

Many people find nosy neighbors to be a problem. It’s difficult to enjoy a garden or pool while looking over your shoulder to make sure nobody is watching you take a dip. There are many solutions to attaining outdoor privacy that are gorgeous, natural looking, and won’t require unsightly fences.

Flora

The simplest way to create a barrier around a property is to plant trees. Shorter, bushier ones will provide coverage lower to the ground, which is where it is most needed. Not only are short trees and large bushes effective at obstructing a wondering eye, they are also great for the environment.

Pergola

Adding a pergola to the side of your house is another cost-effective way to create more private space. A pergola is a patio extending from the house with a semi-covered roof. Medium-sized shrubbery or vines at either end will create a small, somewhat enclosed outdoor sanctuary visible only from directly in front.

A More Organic Feel

These beautiful objects are easy to integrate and will flow into the scenery while keeping prying eyes out of your affairs. The small labor required can be done by hand for free and, this may be the best part, there won’t be any fences to ruin the view.
