Despite my general inclination to buy only what I need for the house, mixed with a healthy dose of being downright cheap, there is one item I tend to overbuy: lamps.
I don’t know what it is, but it’s hard for me to pass up a good lamp. I typically have two or three of them lurking in our basement storage, waiting to be called into service. This one has such a lovely shape, and that one has a killer shade, and my god, this one is 75% off.
I suppose I always envisioned that someday, I’d live in a house with lots of nooks and crannies in need of lighting, like some shadowy Nancy Drew-esque castle. Can’t solve mysteries without proper light, now can you?
Currently, I’m on a bulbous kick and have a lamp similar to this one gathering dust while I try to figure out a spot for it.
