IKEA Life Improvement Project – Free Trees!
You guys, IKEA sent me a tree.
I was as surprised as youd be to get a tree in the mail. (Ok, it was just a seedling, so its not as dramatic as getting, say, a Christmas tree in the mail.) But apparently, IKEA is big on trees as we all should be. (For instance, did you know that IKEA will match your donation to American Forests to help restore our forests? Rock.)
But IKEA sent me a tree this week because on October 1 (this Saturday), theyre giving away 38,000 free seedlings at surprise locations near their 38 U.S. stores. (Follow your local IKEAs Twitter handle for clues.) Or, you can just go shopping: Everyone in IKEA stores that day will get a free seedling after checking out. This is all part of the Life Improvement Project, a series of fun events, seminars, manuals and contests.
So, keep an eye out for your tree, and if you plant it, let us know! (For help, heres a quick tutorial from our friends at The Family Handyman on how to plant a tree that will thrive. Must bookmark this )
