Good jig but not perfect

Posted by Tristan Cottrell under Home Improvement World

I was recently at my local Woodcraft and they only had a display model so I was reluctant to buy but i went ahead and bit the bullet and bought it anyways. The price was $399 which was $50 less and I didnt have to pay for shipping or wait for it to come in the mail. So after making sure they had all the parts that came with it which they did I went ahead and bought it. I got it home and had to do some adjusting to get it to fit my router (Ridgid plunge) which was easy enough. The only thing about that was for my perticular router it takes a little more work to remove the base when using it outside of the FMT even though the base will fit most routers with easy on and off adjustment tabs but not mine.

Daisy Copenhagen

Posted by Tristan Cottrell under Home Improvement World

Yes, I have Copenhagen on the brain today. Mostly because my neighbor is there on holiday and she sent me a photo and text from the Royal Cafe , a place she knows I love. I’m even borderline obsessed over it. By the way, have you visited their newish cafe in Tokyo? It’s their second location and rightly placed, Japanese are so much in love with Danish design. Frustrations including not having time to stop by a local farmers market and a lack of local produce in grocery stores inspired Hughes business concept.

The last thing I want to do is compete with the farmers markets, said Hughes, 30, an employee benefits consulting partner at Coleman Dugan & Hughes in Grand Rapids.

Nude gardening? Seriously?

Posted by Tristan Cottrell under Home Improvement World

I think I’m pretty comfortable in my own skin.

I’m just not comfortable in only my own skin.

I feel exposed in a sleeveless shirt. So to me, the idea of nude gardening seems a little, well, out there.

But Pat Brown is different.

Brown is a past president of the American Association for Nude Recreation , an organization that advocates the opportunity to pursue recreational activities in the buff. When I called the association seeking someone to talk about its annual World Naked Gardening Day, it put me in contact with the amiable and articulate Brown.

Brown said she’s been a gardener for years and a nudist since the early ’80s.

Color Me Pretty: Fluorescent Touches

Posted by Tristan Cottrell under Home Improvement World

Hello friends, it is Leslie here with Color Me Pretty for July. I just got back from Tokyo so I thought it would be fun to share some of my color inspiration from the trip. Similar to last summer, I noticed a wide use of fluorescent colors in home décor items, fashion, stationary and even crafting supplies . Small blasts of color can really liven things up. I have gathered a few ideas that I hope will get your creative wheels turning.

If you cannot imagine anything permanent in your home with such electric color, try introducing a tiny bit on a mood board.
